The good idea from MuseumNext: setting up a virtual ticket

In recent years, the MuseumNext conference has noted that many professionals have showed an interest in programming but cannot travel to the conference destination, not to mention the growing concerns around excessive travel involving air flights, in particular.

To address this challenge, but also to attract new audiences who would never have attended the conference otherwise (for reasons of cost or distance for example), MuseumNext has set up since 2019 with editions from Amsterdam and New York, a virtual ticket.

For a portion of the price of the IRL conference, participants can attend the conference and network with other professionals (using a dedicated online platform) directly from their phone, computer or tablet.

A good idea, especially since the Edinburgh edition, from March 23 to 25, is sold out.
The virtual ticket represented a fourth of total ticket sales for 2019 editions.
